Selah Space App LLC
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 18, 2026 · Last Updated: September 18, 2026
1. Introduction
Selah ("Selah," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Selah Space App LLC, a Texas limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Selah website and app (together, the "Service"), how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have. By using Selah, you agree to the practices described here.
Selah is built to be a quiet, private place. We collect only what we need to provide the experience, and we treat what you share with Selah, especially your journal entries and prayers, as sensitive and personal.
Selah Space App LLC is the data controller for the information described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. Your email address and basic profile details (such as your name) from the sign-in method you choose, for example Google sign-in or an emailed sign-in link.
Content you provide. What you type in response to "What are you carrying?"; journal entries; anything saved to "Kept Close" (prayers, Scriptures, reflections, past sessions); reminder time preferences; your music and notification preferences; and your AI-personalization opt-in status.
Communication data. Messages, support requests, and feedback you send us.
Subscription and billing information. If you subscribe, payment is processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card details.
Information collected automatically. Device and browser information, usage data (pages viewed, features used, timestamps), IP address and approximate city or region-level location, and log data (access times, error logs, referring pages).
Waitlist and marketing information. Your email address (and phone number, if you provide it) collected through our waitlist, invitation, and newsletter forms.
3. Sensitive Information
What you share with Selah, such as worries, prayers, and health or emotional circumstances, can reveal religious beliefs and information about your physical or emotional wellbeing. We treat this content with heightened care:
- We use it only to provide the Service to you (to generate your session, save what you keep, and show it back to you).
- We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with advertisers.
- By choosing to type this content into Selah, you consent to our processing it for these purposes. You can delete it at any time (see Section 11).
Selah is not monitored by a person in real time. Please do not rely on Selah in an emergency. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), or contact your local emergency services.
4. How We Use Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and sign you in
- Generate your Scripture, prayer, and reflection sessions
- Save and display your "Kept Close" items and journal entries back to you
- Send reminders, receipts, and service-related communications
- Send marketing email or text messages you have opted into
- Process trial and subscription billing
- Understand how Selah is used, including aggregated or de-identified usage analytics, so we can improve it
- Keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not use your journal entries, prayers, or session content for advertising.
5. How Selah's AI Works With Your Content
When you share what you are carrying, that text is sent to the AI service providers that power Selah's reflections, prayers, and Scripture selection, including third-party large language model providers. Selah's AI is configured to ground its responses in Scripture.
- No third-party model training. We do not use your content to train third-party foundation models. The model providers we use are accessed under agreements that do not permit them to train their models on your content.
- Improving Selah. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage patterns (never your individual entries) to improve the Service.
- AI can be imperfect. Responses are generated by AI and may occasionally be inaccurate or miss your intent.
Selah is not a substitute for pastoral care, therapy, or professional counseling. See Section 3 of our Terms of Service.
6. Journal Entries, Prayers, and "Kept Close"
Private to your account by default. We do not share your journal entries or saved prayers publicly, with other users, or with third parties, except as described in Section 7, or if you choose to use a sharing feature (such as a Scripture card), in which case only what you choose to share is shared.
Who can see your content. Your content is visible to you in your account. Selah personnel access user content only when needed for support you request, troubleshooting, safety, and abuse prevention, and only under access controls.
Opt-in personalization. If you turn on AI personalization, Selah may use your saved journal entries and prayers to shape your future sessions. It is off by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings.
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers. Trusted third parties who help us operate Selah and who may access only what they need to perform their service, under contracts that limit their use of it: AI processing providers; cloud hosting and database providers; our payment processor (Stripe); our email and text messaging provider; analytics providers; and, on our marketing website only, advertising measurement providers (see Section 10).
- Business transfers. If Selah is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
- Legal requirements. If required by law, subpoena, court order, or government regulation.
- Safety. If we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of you or others.
- With your consent. When you ask us to or agree to it.
8. SMS / Text Messaging
If you opt in to receive text messages from Selah, we will use your phone number to send the message types you consented to, such as daily reminders and service notifications. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using the Service.
Mobile information, including your phone number and SMS opt-in status, will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and get assistance by replying HELP. After you opt out, you will receive one final confirmation message.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use this SMS service.
9. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, security, or accounting recordkeeping needs. If you close your account, you may request an export of your information within 30 days; after that, we will delete it from active systems, though some data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period.
10. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how Selah is used.

These tools may collect your IP address, device information, and the pages you visit on our website.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and you can control ad personalization in your Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ad settings. Some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
